UEC New Memberships Begin November 15, 2023!
We’d like to invite your organization to join the UEC.
The Ultra Ethernet Consortium had an overwhelming response for more information from more than 200 companies, organizations, and institutions after its July 2023 launch. The interest and response to our mission to create an AI and HPC workload-specific Ethernet network designed for high performance and scale was both enthusiastic and overwhelming.
To address this level of interest, the UEC Steering Committee has made the decision to phase all membership application processing to support new Member onboarding. This approach is necessary due to the operational capacity required for this scale of project membership and so our new members can contribute productively as soon as they join.
UEC will host an orientation event at SuperComputing 2023 in Denver, CO (and via remote access) where new members are announced and become formal members of the organization.
Become a Member of UEC
Onboarding process and timeline:
Milestone Date | Description |
October 2 | UEC will conduct outreach to organizations that expressed interest in Membership
Interested organizations able to review and fill out the membership agreement package at ultraethernet.org/membership |
October 27 | Deadline for agreements to be completed for Member inclusion in UEC SuperComputing 23 activities |
November 3 | In-person new member orientation session schedule at SuperComputing available |
November 6 | Press outreach for UEC and SuperComputing |
November 12 | SuperComputing announcements and in-person community sessions |
November 15 | New memberships fully activated and onboarded into Working Groups |
After November 15 | New members will continue to be on-boarded on a rolling basis |
Submitted membership agreements will be reviewed by the UEC Steering Committee. Questions about the membership package, including legal questions, can be sent to membership@ultraethernet.org. Please note that per Linux Foundation, all members sign the same agreement, and thus any redlines cannot be accommodated.
All participants in Ultra Ethernet must go through a short orientation session before being allowed to participate in the technical workgroups and access UEC documents. This includes required anti-trust training, an overview of the policies and procedures, and general understanding of the development initiatives. The first of these sessions will take place during SuperComputing 23 with non-conference virtual participation available. Subsequently, new members will continue to be onboarded on an ongoing basis.
